INDRA SMART PRO REVIEW & FEATURES
INDRA SMART PRO SPECIFICATIONS
Before deciding on an electric vehicle charger, it can save you a lot of time and money to do your research beforehand.
This Specifications section aims to demystify some of that EV charging jargon, in order for you to determine whether you’re making the right choice!
Indra have also provided a great summary of the specs and FAQs for the Smart Pro Charger.

Charging Rate
This process will use information about the battery’s capacity and grid carbon intensity to make an accurate and financially-efficient decision on what power charge to use!
For those that feel a little skeptical of your app having all the power, the charging schedule can be overridden at any time via the application or on the device.
The Indra Smart Pro can deliver a power supply of up to 7.4kW. For most electric vehicles, this is equivalent to a driving time of __2____5-30 miles (40-48km) per hour. The Indra Smart Pro also has a standby consumption rate that is lower than 5W.
The charging app and device also have a feature to charge at full power by simply pressing a ‘Boost’ button!
The unit has a variable charging current of 6A-32A. This just refers to the miniature circuit breakers, which give your battery and equipment protection against overloads and short circuits.
CONNECTOR TYPE
The Type 2 socket is handy for those that prefer to keep a cable untethered and out of sight while in use.
External Design And Aesthetics
While it is sleek in its appearance, it’s not as minimal nor inconspicuous as some of the other electric chargers that are on offer in the market.
The size of the charger is a little larger than your standard, coming in at 200m x 420mm x 130 mm (WxHxD).
Part of this is owed to its practical capability of being able to wrap the cable around the back of the device, keeping it out of sight.
Durability
With a polycarbonate build and an IP safety rating of 66, the Indra Smart Pro is incredibly durable.
While some EV car chargers are only splashproof, this beast has the certification that validates it as dustproof and waterproof as well!
The Indra Smart Pro also has IK10 protection, which means that it is quite safe from vandalism, which is a nice added extra compared to other chargers.
The IK rating is an international classification of external mechanical impact protection, and a rating of IK10 is quite impressive!
WHO ARE INDRA?
Despite the fact that its manufacturing plant is based in Worcestershire, Indra has linked up with several professional installation networks worldwide, and now provides its innovative charging services on a global scale! Indra Indra Smart Pro
INDRA SMART PRO BENEFITS
If you have an EV tariff with special kWh rates, we can’t recommend this charger enough, with its smart charging tariff integration.
You’ll be able to sleep with peace of mind when the rain is pouring outside, as this robust unit is as sturdy as a rock.
For those who are not as tech-savvy and can feel a bit overwhelmed by the ‘smart’ progressions in technology, the extremely intuitive application that Indra has designed should be no problem to operate!
With a simple interface, the setup wizard will have you up and charging at the cheapest rate in no time.
Its solar support is a big benefit for those that desire it, as some EV chargers do not yet offer this compatibility.
The charger’s ready-by-time feature has received a lot of positive reviews, turning charging from an errand into something that fits into your lifestyle and fiscal budget!
INDRA SMART PRO DISADVANTAGES
For those that desire more aesthetic agency over their household appliances, you may find the external design of the Smart Pro charger a little lacking.
The only colourway is predominantly white, and because of its larger size, it’s not necessarily an inconspicuous device!
It would be great to see some other color schemes be released, so that this beast of a charger can fit into a wider range of modern home exteriors.
The other qualm to mention is that it does not offer an innate WiFi connection, opting instead for an Ethernet port.
If this is an issue for your household, there is an option to add 4G and WiFi with an external USB expansion- though that will cost a little extra.
SOLAR COMPATIBILITY/MATCHING
It is capable of diverting excess energy into the electric vehicle for off-the-grid charging, which is an awesome added bonus for those looking to get a few extra miles!
Keep in mind that the charging power of a solar set-up is limited to how large your solar power infrastructure can output.
Even though the Indra Smart Pro can output 7.4kW, most domestic solar panel setups generate under 4kW.
EV TARIFF INTEGRATION
This means that Indra chargers allow customers to add the data of their energy company tariffs to the app, which then prioritizes the cheapest time to charge your car.
It also shows a variety of different charging costs set for different times, which is super handy for those that live spontaneous lives and need to know when the best time is to charge up!
SMART APP
Often with smart chargers, there is strong hardware with good intention for an application. However, the resulting software can come across as half-baked (and is sometimes just a laggy mess!).
Thankfully, this is not the case here, with an app that is compatible with web browsers, Android, iOS and WIndows.
With an intuitive setup wizard, you’ll have your app fully customized and ready to go in minutes!
Conscientious consumers will love the detailed analytics that the app supplies of your spendings, the amount of energy that you’ve used, and historical comparisons of how this week is tracking in comparison to last.
