Kia EV6 Long Range RWD FAQs

How does the 233kW DC charging speed compare with rivals?

The EV6 Long Range RWD accepts up to 233kW DC, giving a 10–80% charge in around 18 minutes. The Nissan Ariya peaks at 130kW (45 minutes for 10–80%), and even the Tesla Model 3 Long Range tops out at around 170kW. Only a handful of cars charge faster.

What is the difference between the EV6 Long Range RWD and AWD?

The AWD variant adds a second motor on the front axle for better traction in poor conditions. It costs around £9,000 more and reduces WLTP range to 285 miles. The RWD is the better choice for most UK buyers unless AWD grip is essential.

Does the EV6 Long Range qualify for any government incentives?

There is currently no consumer EV grant for private buyers in England. However, the 4% BIK rate makes it attractive as a company car or via salary sacrifice, and some employers or energy suppliers offer incentives towards a home charger.

Can I charge the EV6 Long Range at 22kW AC public chargers?

The EV6 is limited to 11kW AC, so a three-phase 22kW charger will deliver at 11kW — not 22kW. This is still faster than most home wallboxes and typical destination chargers rated at 7kW.
