Fast, practical, and well-equipped, but the Performance premium buys acceleration rather than capability, and there is still no vehicle-to-home tech.

Tesla Model Y Performance AWD FAQs

What does the Performance trim add over the Long Range AWD?

The Performance variant is tuned for higher power output from its dual-motor AWD drivetrain. The trade-off is a reduced WLTP range of 303 miles versus 331 miles for the Long Range AWD. Boot space, tow rating, and charging speeds are unchanged.

Does the Model Y Performance support V2L or V2H?

No. Like all current UK Tesla models, it does not support V2L, V2H, or V2G. If exporting power to appliances or your home is important, look at the Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD or Kia EV6 AWD instead.

Is the Model Y Performance good value as a company car?

The 4% BIK rate applies regardless of trim level, so the tax bill is identical to the Long Range AWD. For company car drivers who want Tesla performance, the tax position is favourable. However, the higher P11D value means the absolute BIK tax paid is greater.

How does range compare to the Long Range AWD?

The Performance AWD is rated at 303 miles WLTP versus 331 miles for the Long Range AWD, based on the figures in this specification. Both use the same 70kWh usable battery, and the difference reflects higher power consumption from the sportier tune.
